From Dover (England) to Calais (France)

This will allow France to actually attack England and create more balance for England. As it stands playing England is far too easy and a little boring, Once scotland is removed the game is pretty much over.

I would like to see a French stack sieging london while im fighting the scots etc

I know its not historically accurate but neither is the Bridge connecting moors to iberia or the bridge connecting Byz and Turks.

All 3 area's would have required the use of a boat to cross.

I think overall it will greatly improve gameplay for France and England Human or AI

Hey Wizav I'd be able to tell you but unfortunately I'm at work. But you should be able to find out how to do it in the Mod Workshop forums. The mapping section should have something to help you.

I voted that its a good idea even though I agree that historically, it was harder to cross compared to the other land bridges that we already have.

But I still voted yes, cuz I think becuz of the limitation of the game and AI, it will make for better game play.

England is too safe right now. I have seen england lose everything on the mainland and just quietly sit there and do nothing forever.

this might be historically true, but I think it will spice things up in terms of game play.

Voted no because the island thing was such a large part of England/Britain after the Danes/Norse and they can still get invaded by other naval nations if they are going any good in your current campaign

Seems a good idea, and it makes the settlements along that region a lot more valuable. England almost seems invulnerable, so another option of attack is welcomed.

I like the idea. England have it too easy. Ireland never do anything, Scotland is weaker than them, and france can't cross the channel. If you can cross the straits of Gibraltar the channel between denmark & sweden or the Hellespont you should be able to cross the channel.

I'm guessing you mean the straits of Gibraltar and the Bosporus... all require a boat but none require a fleet

Well considering its possible to swim across the channel and you can clearly see land on the other side with the naked eye. It does not require a fleet atall.

As far as im concerned there isnt any good reasons to not implement it.

Also if you disagree with the Channel landbridge surely you dislike all the other landbridges yes? I dont see how you can fully accept and agree with the others but think this one is a bad idea , That wouldnt make any sense.

good idea, Playing 6.2 RR/RC, normally a real challange, but playing as England has been too easy.
Last game I played as the Romans, rock hard, its like night and day!

I say no - instead, I say make the coastal towns automatically have ports, and be able to build Fleets from them.

A few may have Fishing Villages, but I think it Makes so much more sense, and historically accurate. The Pass of Gibraltar is a lot calmer, and easier to traverse, whereas the adverse weather conditions of the Channel make it hard to cross.

IMHO, Scotland could do with cheaper earlier troops, making them stronger, and Ireland better AI, tbh. England get strong too quickly, so perhaps some AI nerfs and buffs to the other factions near to England.

Sorry guys I know this is an SS forum but you want a challenge playing England try Kingdoms Grand Campaign Mod. Don't get me wrong I love SS but England is too easy.

I would be interested in see the results of the landbridge.

another option is to try giving france the "prefers naval invasion true" in the sm_factions file and see if they attempt a crossing, but, by doing this they might pull away from the mainland fighting

I think a land bridge to England is good idea, I haven't England get attacked by sea in my games.
