[Persian Horseman]

I noticed this building in my Byzantine campaign.
It is supposed to increase the effect of orthodox churches by 100%.


my questions are:

1. can it only be built in Constantinople?

2. does it only affect constantinople's church, or does it affect all churches in my empire or does it affect orthodox churches in the world?

3. if there is such a thing that makes orthodox churches so strong compared to other churches and mosques, isnt it unfair? i.e. making orthodox churches 2 times as effective compared to all other churches/mosques?

4. If constantinople were to fall, would it be destroyed? I assume im gonna lose the benefit that comes with it. but the conquering enemy won't be able to get the benefit of it, and from their point of view, they might as well, demolish and sell it. isnt it?

I hope I can answer your questions:

1. No, it can be built in any city, as long as it is the right size (large I think)

2. It only affects the church in the city that it is built in

3. No, it's not really unfair, seeing as they can crusade/jihad, and you cannot

4. It is demolished if the enemy who takes the city is not Orthodox

I guess I just wasted a whole lot of money and turns on sth i didnt need at all since constantinople is like 99% orthodox.

and now that i think of it, i will prob hardly even build this building then, cuz by the time cities get big enough, they are already mostly orthodox.

And if i conquer big enemy cities, priorities go towards building churches and upgrading them, and building other happiness inducing builders that have a quicker effect.

Also priests r a lot cheaper than a building that is like over $5k to build and takes sth like 5 turns to build.

I only build them late in the game when I have too many florins to spend on important things such as roads, farms, ports etc.

2. What is the "mystical" benefit that improves all conversion in the game that I've heard about?

I think the mystical benefit is that the city is saturated with beautiful stainglassed art and such so it makes people more open to Orthodoxy. The Orthodox are big into art depicting biblical scenes. For some reason there are no Orthodox cathedrals or churches of any kind for my Kievan Rus in the skyline when I defend or attack a city with them in them. Sory for the seguay but does anybody else notice this for 6.4?????

I do it when i start the conquest of a heavily alternate religion like italy or spain
