Help needed!

First of all hello to everyone and kudos to the creators of this mod and it's numerous amazing submods.

I recently reinstalled M2TW & M2TWK & SS 6.1 & RR/RC due to a graphics problem originating from SS.
This problem was fixed , but , the music and accents were kinda screwed. I only got M2TW vanilla music both on the campaign and on the battlefield and the HRE would address to me as if they were an islamic faction.
(That's a generous offer Sadiq , Yallah my Sultan wishes you death and so on).
So I deleted the music.dat and music.idx files after having made a backup on a flash memory and reopened the game.
This time I had no music at all. I decided to make the same with events.dat & idx sfx and voices.
I now had no sound at all.
So I said to hell with it, I can live with the vanilla music wrong accents etc. and I copied all the dat and idx's back to data/sounds (which was empty since no files had been recreatd).
The thing is that I would rather not reinstall SS from scratch since it would take me ages to do that since my internet connection is

So if anyone can give a solution to my problem I would more than thankful to him.

P.S. I use vista and I had the stupid UAC on but I turned it off and did the above once more to a disappointing no sound at all once again.

ive had this problem. i have it now in fact. solution- install and play ONLY on the admin account.

So there is no way of fixing that without reinstalling?

I should imagine the solution is to reinstall and ask for help first instead of messing about with files and not knowing what you're doing (I've done too many times myself

)

Well I had done pretty much the same thing when I edited some music files on RTW and I imagined that it would be the same thing on M2TW.

No problem. According to the modders, Medievall II's files are quite different to Rome's...
