Has anyone ever seen the 2002 straight-to-television mini series called Julius Caeser? It starred Jeremy Sisto, Christopher Walken... last on screen appearence of Richard Harris, etc...

I first saw it on Christmas Day 2002, and I thought it was great. However, when i found and bought it on DVD a few years later, I realised that several scenes had been cut out! I know this, because there's a bit during the confrontation with Vercingatorix where the women and children are sacrificed, and it's all a bit grim, but that bit doesn't appear on the DVD version!

I scoured the interenet, but I could only find one other piece of evidence to corroborate this, which was a review on Amazon from someone who had also seen it on TV first.

I can't however find any official information regarding the cuts, why they were made, or even if it is possible to get the full version.

It's a shame, because i really enjoyed that show, but only with everything in it.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Hmmm... did I little more digging. IT seems there are some discrepancies between different Regions. Us Brits got a cut down version

IMDB is usually a good source for such information. They have details on 'alternate versions' but nothing appears there for this series.
