So, we've all seen those videos of hippies/conspiracy theorists antagonizing police or other authority figures in order to get a reaction and claim brutality. This is one is slightly different but in the same spirit.
This is what happened when Alex Jones, world famous nutjob, showed up in Austin at a Toys 'R Us where it just so happened members of my company (wpns co 1/23 in Austin) were promoting the annual USMC "Toys for Tots" program we do where we collect toys for the poor.
Watch as the asshat in this video talks about how the weapons mounted on the Humvees are real despite being told numerous times that they are used for computer simulated situational training and plug into a comp, not an ammo belt. He goes on to call the Humvees "armored" and the Marines in "full battle dress" even though the Humvees that we use are barely fit for training, no one is carrying personal weapons, there is no ammo in sight, the Marines that are wearing flack jackets don't have sappi plates (the things that actually stop the bullets), and one guys' in dress blues.
If anyone was wondering, they were wearing flacks and helmets because by Marine Corps order anytime a Marine is riding in a tactical vehicle that gear must be worn. It's to protect them in event of a vehicular accident, not so they can oppress hippies.
"But, s.rwitt, how is this political?" you ask? I was wondering if anyone here had a problem with the Marines setting up these displays to promote the Toys for Tots and other programs? Conversely, does anyone here have a problem with douche bags like Alex Jones who continually put out these reports that Marines are training to put the US under martial law when he sees them training for urban combat and claims the USMC is trying to take over the country?
