Kingdoms completely uninstalled itself

This is incredibly strange. The other day Kingdoms, and all its mods, were working fine. As of today though, it's uninstalled itself- the files are all there, but once I ejected and re-inserted the disk, when it loaded up the start up menu only had 'install' available, as if the game uninstalled itself.

I need to ask my brother if he was an

and uninstalled it randomly, but since we're using Windows 7 and it asks if you want to completely delete the files of the uninstalled component, and they're still there, I assume he hasn't. That leaves only one, very odd conclusion- the game uninstalled itself! Any recommendations as to what to do here and how to prevent it from happening again in the future? Cheers

Uninstall windows 7 it's even worse than vista for running older software and games

Unless you have a 64bit machine with good directx10 graphics and 8gb + and plan on playing next gen games , 64bit applications etc etc there's simply no point upgrading from XP

Try that.

It is possible the registry entries were deleted, so the computer would think it's been uninstalled.

I've now reinstalled it, but whenever I start up the game it uses the MS Dos (black window with text?) and then an error window comes up saying cannot find the kindgdoms.exe' even though it's in the folder
