Interesting Religous Concept

Imagine this, a dualistic religion in which the god of good wants to do good but only has powers of evil, and the god of evil wants to do evil, but can only do good.

I am not sure that there is actually any religion like this, but to me it explains the world we live in much better than most religions. Take for example population growth. The god of good would obviously want to slow the world population growth before populations got unsustainable and started to experience the effects of famine and environmental destruction. Yet since the only powers he has are evil he can only do this through disease, natural disasters etc.

The god of evil would want the population to grow exponentially so that the population of the world experience all the suffering caused by overpopulation. Since he only has the powers of good he would achieve his ends through things like making sex feel so good, the joy of parenting etc.

Such a religious system certainly would explain why there is so much pain in this world. Anyways just thought it was an interesting concept.

The problem is the evil one. Making sex feel that good is cruel. Hence it's still evil.

There's also the problem of the good god still being good by natural disasters.

An awesome idea though, but don't ya think maybe some guys have thought of it already?

Well, that's how I see it. It's a doubling of the motives (good=bad action / bad=good action) but in the end it's the same.

Interesting idea nevertheless.

Kind of but in the case of the example given the result is rather bad than neutral.

What about the good god wants people to live a good existance, but as he can only use evil powers he punishes bad people in hell, so people will do good. And since the bad god wants people to behave badly, but can only use good powers he makes the lives of bad people happy.

I prefer not saying that this idea is interesting as it will be against my religion to belive in, or have any fascination of any other god. Especially, Pagan or Polythesitic values

Oh excellent concept,gets the brain rolling. Hmmm,yep like the Government mention,so true!!! There was a saying.."Technology changes,man doesn't" oh scarey..as stuck same Gove probs,lol.

Hmm evil but does good,good does evil...somewhat like Djinni with wishes or Efreet,but Gods not sure.
