    Icon4 Some good questions

First question, not that important but what does Deus Lo Vult means? I understand its French?

Im playing DLV with its patch.. Everything seems to work, but one thing about the cavalry when they charge and fight, they spread around the field 10 times more spreaded around than in "loose formation".. Like the balls in a pool game.. lol. Is this normal?

And another thing i need to know what it means with the first question at the beginning which asks if i want TW or something else.. Can someone explain what they do and mean?

    Thanks

Deus Lo Vult means "God will's it!" and it's Latin.

Cavary charge spread is normal, and is a part of DLV experiance. More realistic Cavaraly charges. AFAIK it's some mini mod incorporated into DLV.

TW or Something else probable means do you want a Total war game (non-stop war) or Something else (normal game?).

It's actually a medival version of vulgar latin. The french version is spelled, dieu le veut.

If you don't like the cavalry spread, then just install the BB mod. And it's done to make the realism of cavalry charging and spreading. Aka. to not acting like a single unit, with a single brain.

Total War AI is like every other nation focus on you from the very start.

Standard DLV allow for a slower total war start(20-40 turms), so you can get your building ready, as recommended by Repman, to have a normal economy.
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

I dont think its realistic when the cavalry is running to different directions away from the battle, like 200 meters to different directions.

The "Standard DLV", so does that mean it gives you time to prepare, then around 40 turns, the game will be normal, like the AI might or might not attack?

Total war=everyone gets into a blood orgy right of the bat
Standard means you get a few dozen turns of breathing space before death and destruction

as for the calvary it is realistic, it was impossible to keep a formation when all that is going on
