What if we create them in a lab and put them like in a zoo on some other planet. Would they still be aliens and interesting considering they are younger and less developed then we are? Would we come back to see if they wiped them selves? In that case, are we the aliens?

Personally I fancy the idea of doing hot alien babe as long as she has all the parts and is attractive by human standards. Like most Star Trek aliens.

simple, why do we care about the creatures we inhabit the earth with?
because they are part of our world. in a way, part of us. part of our ecosystem.
perhaps we are considered to the aliens, part of their world, their universe, and in a way, part of them?
perhaps we are or will be a vital part of the universal ecosystem?

or if the aliens are infact neanderthals (hypothetical that perhaps they reached an advanced level of society and left earth to us), they care about us because we are going to be their maincourse at the next banquet/rapine adventure? (considering the recent article about a possible alternate theory on neanderthals)

Its hard to say since we don't know how technology will lead life. I guess a complete understanding and control of the brain will come much earlier than any meaningful space-travelling. But when that is achieved, I don't see how you would need to develop any further. The basic instincts pushing us to live and develop will be at your own control. Where do you develop from there?
