    Default Princess Female Portraits.

    Hello,

Does anyone know a way to change the generic non-princess portrait?

I hate the generic non-princess portrait because I kinda have a little role playing with my family tree.

Ive seen screenshots of Family trees with beautiful non-princess portraits and I think to myself... "I want that"

So Im wondering how to use/find portraits.
I know where Portraits are in the programfiles/SEGA/medievaltotalwar/mods/stainlesssteel/ blah blah blah is. And ive found a file containing portraits of some faces in-game.

The thing is, Ive heard for some reason a guy played Stainless Steel, he I unpacked the portraits and ran into all sorts of problems, some even fatal (like save file and turn corrupted bug). If he did't unpack, it was fine.

I think I saw a few people said that you don't have to unpack, just put the new file in the mod folder and the game will load from there, can anyone please give me an instruction on how to do this? Like step by step? Thank you.

I myself have edited every single charcter portait in the game so all my generals are now real life-women ^-^. Basically I was very bored one ay so I thiught I would attempt some modding

Your generals are now all women? Sounds like fun. Do they all look like Rachel Stevens by any chance?

lol, Some are. It varies considerably

the reason why you couldn't find the folder is because I installed a portaits pack then overwrote it.Whoops ^-^

Thats Awsome News! Thanks for the quick reply aswell.
I could not however find that folder you said
    "data/UI/NorthernSouthern etc/portaits/family"

Do I have to look in the original Medieval Folder? EXAMPLE:
    ProgramFiles/SEGA/MedievalTotalWar/data/UI/NorthernSouthern etc/portaits/family
Because I looked under that folder and the only files there are Battle.sd, Shared.sd, and strategy.sd

    I also looked under
ProgramFiles/SEGA/MedievalTotalWar/Mods/Stainless_Steel/data/UI/.. and Looked under "Northern_european" and "southern_european" etc but could not find family/portraits?

The only Portraits I found under Stainless Steel were called
"...Eastern_european/portraits/portraits/young/pagan_priests" Which were not Wives photos.
Although, I did find Wives photos but for INVASIO BARBARORVM (IBFD).
Not the family Portraits Im looking for however.

Also, Another note. Would it be too much to ask. If and when i find this folder, could you attach/link some photos for somes wives I could use? and a step by step on how to unpack them? Thanks again.

Thanks for your answer. That was very helpful. The guide told me to just make my own extension, so i did and it worked. Thanks for the great advice.
