I have RTR gold installed but I cant use process_cq cheat why is this?

are you using capitals in your city names?

Mods don't (and can't) change anything to cheats whatever. This is all hard-coded (unchangeable), so there's no difference between mods and RTW vanilla, which means you're probably doing something wrong

In my RTR it wont even bring up the RomeShell. Its ok tho cause its more fun without cheat codes.

In the 1.5 patch there is a issue with the console, i dont know why but dont worry it can be fixed and has nothing to do with RTR.

Go to the directory Data/text
use a standard text editor (like notepad/word etc.) to open "descr_shortcuts"
scroll down until you see "misc." section
there should be a line with "show_console" here, and it says "hidden" behind it.
remove "hidden" and save the file

start Rome: Total War, go to controls and press reset to default
go to the miscellaneous section in the controls
there should now be a line "show debug console" in the list of misc. controls
set whatever key you like to it (however ` or ~ might not work), press the key during the game, and there you go, a nice console

That's got nothing to do with RTR.

If you have it with RTR, then you will have the problem with all other mods and vanilla as well. We really have no control over this. And if we had, I would disable it

My cheats work, or something like that.
The first time I use a cheat, it works.
Afterwards not anymore, until I restart the game.

My old Rome TW never had this problem...

Why would you use such a thing? I don't like cheats. In my oppinion they spoil the game, if you wish to make it easy there's always vanilla

But, everyone their own style

I only cheat if I'm about to win a battle (or have won a battle) only for the game to crash

Having said that, they are fairly useful for playtests

Does anyone know how to use a cheat that makes other factions accept my peace offers? Cause I get annoyed with constantly being at war with every neighbor...lol
