Need Script Help: StingBin files

Hi all modders,

I have been wanting to work on making a new faction for a personal mod, but the damn StringBin files won't work. I have tried Alpaca's (sic?) StringBin Converter but it didn't work at all, even wit Python installed. I cannot edit the strings directly, because Notepad, Wordpad, and WINWORD (with unicode for WINWORD) don't work. I have tried launching the files using IE (8 I believe) and that has led to a causal loop of download.

Any advice?

You must use Python 2.5, lastest version don't work on it.

Edit: How do I edit the files in English?

The tool is totally french, you may ask to Octavius (registered here) how to do that

Or to gigantus who translated another work of Octavius.

Could I still use it, changing all names back to their English counterparts perhaps? Do you think that would work?

It works on english files no need to translate

Here is the latest version with English interface. Got the German version as well if you like. Simply extract into any empty folder. Click the application to use.
