Default Historical Battles: not saving where they ought

As a preface to my question, I feel I should point out that I am using Vista, which I know has a tendency to save files wherever its whimsy dictates.

As to my actual question, it is simply this: I cannot find where the battle editor is saving the historical battles I have created. I have looked in data/world/maps/battle/custom (as the documentation advised), and found all the vanilla custom battles, but none that I had created. I even took to making custom battles, naming them stupid names like "robotoid" and trying a search for them. Still no luck.

Can anyone advise on where they might be saved? Thanks.

Err .. Try some hidden folders like Appdaya .

Also , are you getting a sanity report or error when saving ?

Did you add armies in your battle ?

It works fine when playing the game, I can play the battle fine. It's just that I need to do some battle scripting and I can only do that with the right folder, which is not saving in the right place and does not come up in searches of the WHOLE COMPUTER.

Still, I appreciate your trying to help

perhaps somewhere in the preferences folder something that prevents you from finding it ?

Also , are you doing this for RS ? If so , are you doing it for a modfoldered version (like for instance the roman modfolder ?)

I am doing it for RS, but I was planning to copy it over to the MF folders later. I honestly cannot find the file on my computer, but yet it works perfectly in game!

I thought you meant roaming, not local. The vista search returned no results for the appdata folder, so naturally I concluded that there was nothing in it. How was I to know that local/virtualstore would be such a goldmine My crystal ball has been malfunctioning a bit lately...
