Campaign CTD

I just reinstalled the game, because I was having issues with a mod, and havn't done anything other than a few small tweaks to the files (preferences and switching who you can unlock) and when I tried to start an imperial campaign, it hopped right back to the screen where it says Imperial campaign, custom battle, etc., etc.

Whats wrong?

I want to know how to use the show_err. Just anything youc an tell me would be great, really....
And, I am trying to figure THAT out so I can find out why my imperial campaign crashes back to the battle type selection screen everytime I try to start.
