Depend on your own experience, atheist or not, can you share with me your opinion. I also invite you to discuss about the reason for your idea.

Is it true that nowadays religious folk are more comfortable toward others as long as they believe in God, which is not necessary their god? Or do believer nowadays continue to see Atheist and Infidel the same way they used to: devil follower?

From my personal experience, it appears that there are more debates between Atheist and christian or atheist and muslim etc than between follower from different religion. It could be that conflict between Atheism and theism is more dramatic or simply because Atheist is more willing in debating with people from different belief. Could it be that Atheism has , somehow, made people less separated?

As always the 'normal' religious people dislike fanatic people the most, disregarded which religion or idea.

Religions unite to fight off irreligion and atheism the same way
the different monarchies of Europe unified in the past to fight off democracy.

    They "hate" other religions more.
    They "fear" atheists more.

    Phier,

In the word of God religion is that which leads people away from God to another Jesus, another God that is not the God of the Bible, neither is it the God from whom Paul learned. And, most of the books of the New Testament warn of such things. We therefore deduce that there is a difficulty in what is the real against what is manmade.

So, God in His wisdom made the separation Himself by the method of rebirth wherein He through the Holy Ghost indwells them that know His voice and can respond to it whereas others can't. Him being the Comforter and in whom all truth be known is always ready in them that He dwells to talk of Jesus Christ and His wondrous saving grace.

From my own experience being among Christians, born again ones, their enthusiasm to relate what God has done for them is the certainty of being the main agenda. Religion is void of that especially them that claim to be Christian. Lots of ritual but not much else.

Born again Christians don't hate atheists and shouldn't because nobody is devoid of the knowledge that there is a God. The atheist prefers not to believe, perhaps, nay, for sure, because they have never had any experience of what God can do and does and therefore from what they were born into, they prefer not to be part of that anymore. What most or all come out of is therefore lifeless religions.

So in answer to the question, as is always the answer, is belief. Not what anyone or any church tells you, but belief that in the word of God is the power of God to make the difference. That is the key or keys that saved two thousand or more at Pentecost and could change your life forever. There is no church around when God makes that conversion because it is a one to one between God and the recipient.

Therefore the one who tells of a false god, another Jesus and delivers no Spirit of truth is more guilty than the atheists who were the object of their false pronouncements in the first place and on them is placed a heavier price. It is these that are my target as anyone can see on these threads. I don't hate any but I dislike what they cling to regardless of what the overall flow of Scripture tells.

How about 'neither'? I don't hate atheists and I don't hate non-Christian theists.

However, I dislike the extremists of both groups, both the anti-theists who go out of their way to piss religious people off and religious fanatics who try to shove their own brand of whatever religion they follow down others' throats.

Even though I'm atheist, I feel the same as Mister Borat(bloody mormons and Jehova's witnesses constantly trying to convert me >.<)

I personally have nothing against other religions, nor either really lack of religion. What I cannot stand is hate of religion, therefore I tend to hate athiests (only those who attack religion in general) more, as I have no ill will against anyone of any other faith.

I,myself, hate Atheism. If you don't want to believe in something, fine, but don't go on an crusade to make it illegal to say "God" in public or to have Christmas trees ornaments on my desk for god's sake.

I don't hate either. But I am more annoyed by religious extremists because they make theists look stupid. Especially since they usually tend to be a very vocal minority and get more media attention. This tends to lead people to think all Christians are fundies or that all Muslims are bombers; or, for an example regarding my religion, that all Wiccans are new-agers. All of those assertions are patently untrue, but the media attention that religious extremists (and weirdos) have might mislead people. It's a dick move.

OTOH, I dislike extremist atheists just as much. I don't see why people can't just respect others' right to believe and practise whatever they want, or not. The world would be a far better place if we generally respected each others' belief systems and went on our merry ing way.

I also don't care about what other people believe in or if they don't believe in anything. But I can say I get extremely annoyed when atheists INSIST on saying "you believe in an invisible man in the sky that is ridiculous blah blah" still, I find george carlin was extremely funny

As an Atheist I don't hate religious people. I just don't understand how one can truly believe something on faith alone.

As an Atheist I don't hate the people, I hate the idea. I hate religion but I don't hate the religious people.

I don't know what religious people hate. They don't exactly have to hate any of us for our opinions. They can, but I don't think most of them do.

Because of the lack of respect shown by them towards free will. You know what I find more funny? Most atheists I have met cite religious fanaticism, and the will of the church to manipulate everyone into believing what they do, to be one of the major reasons they "do not believe in god". Yet, those are the same people who try at all costs to "convert me to nothing". To me that is a severe lack of respect towards others.

How many Atheistic people have you met and how many of them are like this? Most Atheists I have seen (including me) are completely apathetic to what you believe or don't believe.
