Northern Black Sea provinces for Greeks

I've been playing as the Greeks for a while, and at a certain moment I keep getting settlements in the northern Black Sea area. These are useless, to far from my capital and not profitable. And always the port is blockated. Is this scripted? And can someone explain why they suddenly appear in the game?

Presumably some regions that have faction creator greek cities revolt from their occupier, back to their creator and that`s you. There`s nothing stopping you from giving them away if you don`t want them though.

Ok, thanks for the information. In that case I'll simply leave them untill they revolt.

Couldn`t you also use a diplomat to gift them to another faction?

Florin is, as always, correct. And you can definitely use force diplomacy to get rid of them, even if nobody will take them for free.

Historically, the Greeks (especially the Athenians) set up colonies all around the Black Sea, mainly as a good source of grain. If you play as a different faction and attack these settlements you will see that they contain Greek troops.
