    Default legate issue

I have a general who has 10 years of military service, the description says that he should become legate but this isn't happening why is that ?

    I'm playing RTR-PE with 4tpy script

Once a general reached 10 years service mark, but still carries the title of "Tribune", you should put him in a town of you choice and let him spend there 2-3 turns until he will become a "Former Tribune". Then move your general out of the settlement and merge him with one unit of infantry ( not cavalry, though ). On the next turn he should become Legate with apropriete ancillary of the legion he would be assigned to.

He's got former tribune and tribune traits at the same time, i tried leaving him with one unit of hastati but it didn't help

Is this consular army retinue (I've given him this because it improves morale ) an issue or is it something else ?

AFAIK, if a character allready has similar ancillary, like Consular Army in your case, he wonīt get any other. Those ancillaries donīt exclude each other if given afterwards, though.

I thought iīve answered your question allready: you have to transfer the "Consullar Army" ancillary to another family member, let Luca stay in the town till he has only the "Former Tribune" trait, and then repeat the same moves described above.
Sometimes kind of bug occures and your family member would still keep the "Tribune" trait, while he has "Former Tribune" for example, or another one. You simply have to try out; normaly after several turns spent in a settlement and then merging a family member with a unit of infantry does work finally and he becomes the ancillary.
