I disagree, I beleive he acted fairly quickly open entering office. First he took on stem cell research/founding, than he took on Iraq with troop withdraws. As majority dem I also have to say I'm pretty happy with past and recent attempts to pass new energy bills including the new one to have future cars get at least 35mpg or whatever it is by 2016. But I am upset at his admin for not attacking health care and just letting the republicans dominate the debate.
The simple fact that he hasn't done anything to help the innocent prisoners in Guantanamo Bay means his term in office so far has been a complete failure. More to the point, he has said verbatim that the people being held in Guantanamo are "too dangerous to prosecute." More to the point, he's basically sold the American people up the river for quick money from the Insurance and Pharmaceutical industries.
All in all, the Obama administration is a huge embarrassing failure.
- They're fine with holding enemy combatants indefinitely.
- They're not pushing for true health care reform, they just want to give away free swag to the insurance companies.
- They feel that civil liberties are something that can be compromised with legislation and executive orders.
- They will fight in court for the ability to use executive overreach.
- They refused to implement meaningful oversight of the financial industry to prevent them from screwing us over in the near future.
- They love corporate welfare but can't be bothered to help out people truly in need.
- They look away from gay rights when it's politically convenient.
edit:
Oh yeah... he also wants to extend the PATRIOT act.

I love Obama.
But I really wish he had the balls to wipe the Republican Party off the map.

Actually you can remove the republicans and have a new 2nd party form.... its happened multiple times in the past. When the last time you voted for the Whig or the Free Soil party? I hope not recently.
If the republican party were to die it would be a great thing. We need new blood in washington.

I never thought I'd agree with Danzig but he's right. Obama tries *way* to hard to compromise with the right and he's seriously dropped the ball with the healthcare reform. I give him a C.
That's not true... if it were true, they'd have found a compromise. Obama like to say he's seeking bipartisan solutions, but that's just to make himself look better, and it worked on you. Since his approval rating is so low, he's trying to reach out to the independents who want to see compromise, but he's just letting them hear compromise while he does something different.
I gave him 20-30%
Also, does anyone ever remember a president who used a logo more often than his presidential seal? http://www.barackobama.com/index.php look at all the O logos! I don't think there's ever been anything like it. He even modified the presidental seal during his campaign that adds the "O":

He is a terrible president.

I think he has good intentions, but still I think he has failed on many of his promises and oppertunities.
My approval of him has been steadily declining for the last couple of months.
