Default Does this guy deserve the artifex badge?

Hello dear TWC Citizens and Curia members,
beeing slightly unsure, if in the eyes of the CdeC, this guy deserve the TWC Artifex badge or not, before posting our application, i would like to ask you all, what is your opinion about the references of this guy!
    (Links are provided above)

    Application for the Artifex Badge:
First of all, sorry for my bad english!
    _______________________________

    Dear CdeC members,
i Userprobe propose that the member Musculus Maximus be granted citizenship and promoted to the rank of Artifex.
I think the time is more than right to give this good and helpfull guy what he have hard-, and self-earned. He is a very, very talented modder as you will see on your own, following the many links he has provided. How he would like to say; he is not very good with (english) words, but he speak with pictures and valid evidences.
As you can see, this guy has already given many to the whole TWC Mod Community, with also his permissions given to many great mods, to use his graphical wonders. And now this same guy, will give more - as he has initiated his first own great mod project "Kingdoms Crusades Redesigned" that i'm sure will be a really great mid-size Mod success.

    Best regards,
    Userprobe

    Application for the Artifex.

I think, with my work I will be a beneficial enrichment for the TW Center. I already released some minor mods and placed them at the disposal for the community.
In particular my work is used in several mods, for example the following modleaders were granted a permit:

    - Dimitri Harkov
    - Dave Scarface
    - Icedie of South
    - The Housekeeper
    - Tzar
    - Userprobe
    - Mythic_Commodore
    - Barser
    - Lord Flasheart
    - Socal_infidel

Here are some downloads of my mods:

    Musculus Maximus Skin Mod 1.0 August 05, 2007 570 A Approved
    Musculus Maximus Skin Mod 1.1 August 25, 2007 804 A- Approved

The threads with graphical work and models:

Kingdoms Crusades Redesigned (My first own bigger project)
Musculus - Models and Skins Update 08.AUG.2009
    New Interface
    Muscu´s Workshop (Update 14/aug/09)
    The Graphics Workshop
    Coat of arms
    The big Family

There is also affirmative feedback in the graphic contests:

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...13#post5707013
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...72#post5849072

In the range of 2D and 3D works I also try assist the community, even though this sometimes shipwrecks because of my English skills.
But I hope to improve my English in the course of time and to assist more extensively.

An affirmative evaluation of my work with awarding me the Artifex would certainly enhance my existing motivation.

    Kind regards, Musculus Maximus

I think he is posting it here, because musculus maximus´application has been rejected, and yes i would also like to hear from the CdeC members why Muscu is not eligible for the Badge we all work so hard to bear?

Muscu surely has contributed with the TW Center and i believe he deserve the Badge!!

He has to wait at least one month to be able to re-apply!!

If he's applied and been rejected, wouldn't he and his patron have been told why? Why does there need to be a public referendum on whether or not he deserves citizenship?

This would have been my question. I think MM is a good guy and has done excellent work. He should be rewarded for his contribution as everyone should be once the contribution has reached a certain criteria. I think he will eventually. Sometimes people slip through the cracks or do not get the vote for one reason or another which I will not go into or reference anyones application including MM's. Members of the CdeC do the best they can, i believe that. Atleast the ones I served with. There is a reason you get to reapply in 30 days, it is because the ones that really deserve the award will eventually receive it. I didn't on my first attempt and either did many others. The paragraph does play a larger role than many think. Not saying that is the case here, its just an example. My second try I laid out my contributions better and was awarded for it. I didn't do really anything more just presented my work better the second time. Max will get it Userprobe, I believe that. If either of you would like to contact me for anything please do.

Because i feel like there was something unfair about the out come, but if that is a private and delicate matter, than wouldn´t this thread be closed?

I've never talked about something like unfair or rejected, guys! And i never initiated a public referendum!
I simply asked about your personal opinion, what u think about the references of this guy!!! So please dont introduce rumours about delicate and private matters in here!

It just feels to me like pressuring the CdeC to vote one way.

It is simply to hear the opinion of skilled Citizens & Artifex'ers. But you're right as well, this can be seen from two different point of views.

to become a citizen, patience is required. From what i've seen on previews of the guy he deserves.. but mine, it's just a drop in the middle of the ocean.

You need the opinion of the CdeCers, as they're the ones with the vote. Here's the list of current councillors. The places of Astaroth, Captain Blackadder and Rome kb8 are currently up for election, but the other 9 should still be around in a month's time, if what Icedie says is correct.

I don't think it particularly matters how we feel on any individual candidate more than anyone else. Councilors are elected on ability to discern, do the work, and provide a proper analysis. The results of that on a case by case basis are far less important, as everyone applies criteria in a different way, it puts to much weight on a specific agreement or disagreement. In the case of Musculus, I believe any CdeC sentiments would have been referred to the patron and candidate.

Aye, but if a councillor thinks positively about a candidate, that's one vote in the bag. Whereas we non-councillors can think whatever we like, and it doesn't concretely affect the CdeC vote one bit. Or at least it shouldn't.

I still think this thread is trying to pressure the CdeC into a Yes vote.

That's true, which is why I'm seriously against an emphasis on individual applicants. If we start over-analyzing every candidate which applies and posing it to the Curia main, it creates an unnecessary tension and a focus on all the wrong things. The thing is, if someone running for the CdeC were to tell me they'd have denied my application for citizenship, I wouldn't hold it against them unless I saw in it something systemically wrong in their reasoning.

But what the individual focus does is it throws that emphasis on case-by-case opinions, so Councilor A is being elected because he'd vote for Johnny B. Goode and Councilor B is ousted as he wouldn't, even if Councilor B does a much better job of coming to reasoned conclusions on a systemic level. There's an inherent gravitation to individual plights which will overshadow what really matters.

The right way to go about this would have been speaking to other Citizens via PM, and getting them to recommend ways to improve on the resume, as well as elaborate upon what makes the resume citizenship-worthy for them, and that would be a utility for Councilors in making their judgments. If we have a Curia main thread about every candidate up for Citizenship, don't you think that'd be a little unruly and a bit of a circumvention?

His work is amazing, but Im not sure of the value of this thread. His application would surely be decided on by his works, rather than others opinions on him.

Personally I think the quality of his work merits a badge, but I dont now what other issues were involved in the application.

I fully agree with this statement.
In my opinion he should get the badge but what you did with starting this thread is completely unnecessary.

I think that the CdeC should decline to view his application for at least one month. All the other applicants posted in the CdeC forum, and received no such publicity. Given that all members of the CdeC have read this it is unconceivable that their opinion will be fair and unbiased towards the prospective candidate. Unfair for the candidate, unfair for all the past candidates and unfair for all the future ones (except if we make plebiscites on citizenship, a habit here...)

The CdeC should also give a clear message to all aspiring patrons that its hand cannot be forced by plebiscites that are a direct contravention to the Constitution and to the functions of CdeC.

Or, alternatively, they could abolish themselves.

I think he is deserving of the badge. But his low post count and faulty english might hinder him in is attempt to get the badge.
