    Default Attatchment files

I am trying to add a new unit to the game. When i look in battle_models.modeldb i can see some texture files called attatchment files what are they and do i need to change them if i add a new unit.

Another question if i add a new unit is it better to copy some simlar lines and paste them where i want them then edit them to what i need. Or should i just edit some exhisting unit details in battle_models.modeldb and add the new unit that way.

None of the above. Start by reading some tutorials. I believe there are several that touch this issue.

Messing with the .modeldb file can be tricky. A single " " character can give you ctd. Better be sure of what you are doing before proceeding.

Attachment-files have the skins of weapons, shields and other attachments of the unit.

I will be using a specially formatted copy of the .modeldb file i downloaded and i have backed up the original game modeldb file. So hopefully if things go pear shaped it will be okay

Not only that, but continually check with the Syntax Checker as soon as you've added any changes.

And my humble opinion is to check any new change you do. For example, don't put 5 new units in and then run the game to see if it working, because, especially when you get a ctd after a lot of changes, you will have no idea where the problem can be. Maybe you already know this Alex, just in case...
