Default Druvatars 5 newbie "good modding" habits

hi I am rather new to the modding process also, but I am making quick progress mostly due to following these principles.

    1. Never modify a file directly in its folder, always copy first to your back up folder and then to your desktop then re-open the file and modify.

    2. double check ask whomever you can about procedure! you do not want to be constantly backtracking, your project will never get done!

    3. as a "newbie" and if your serious about your mod proposal. be POLITE! because you will spend more time asking questions than anything else! (but remember be polite because people here enjoy helping you).

    4. Even if a Tutorial may not seem llke something you need to know read it! odds are the knowledge will be needed eventually ( I suggest bookmarking all tutorials, so you have your own "glossary" of modding).

5.Before even attempting your own project dl others mods and try and see how they changed the game from vanilla, look at both vanilla and the mods files to see what is different. Try an gain an understanding of how the game engine works.Learn to tweak these mods yourself before attempting a full project with your own folder.
last but not least!!! alway check double and triple check your work! punctuation,Capilization and grammer in general is paramount! the game engine does not have the ability to be lenient for bad grammer!

    Good luck!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Those are good ones +rep

I'm also new to modding, mostly so far text editor, and most of what I've learned was by comparing vanilla files with modded ones to see what is changeable or what can be changed.
