    Default Battlemap Lighting and Fog

    Ive been trying to work out what some of files that affect light. Ive read the tutorials on the wiki and Ive downloaded HS Skymod to see how he's done things but I could do with some clarification on some things.

    I cant find what ambient_reduce_proportion does HS and some other have changed the value from vanilla, however when Ive changed it (0.0-0.9) I cant really see what its responsible for. Can anyone help.

    Also I'm I right in thinking that ambient(red,blue,green)_increase_proportion, is like altering the contrast?

    Hi Hannibal, The ambient light, is the equivilent to all around light, like daylight. Its not directional like say a spotlight.
    The ambient(red,green,blue)_increase_proportion is as you say like contrast, Its a balance thing, and tricky to get right, I am still playing with it. descr_daytype file in data folder also can be used to alter light, to try to get morning, noon, afternoon, evening and night effects. hope that helps a little. mags

    You can actually achieve some interesting effects by editing this, I accidentally got the map to be overly green. Gave it a very cool look. Just not one that fit the mod.
