Finland may be added in later, but not in our first release, at least.
And the tribes thing is easy. We make the biggest and most important ones factions and the rest rebel![]()
That comic is so funny.
I am never logged off
A retired Star Wars Empire at war modder.
I have been here a long time and everyone are such great modders. Keep it up!
I only made one mod ever, and if EA was still making EAW games, then I bet they would've liked my leader's work and made it into a game themselves.
Look at the first post
If you include the Caledonians (Northern Scotland) Then i'll definitely help out. (It wouldn't seem far fetched as the Caeldonians fought many Scandanavian invasions) And the countries are across a small part of the sea form each other.
maybe you can use viking invesion II as a base
Thank you, I'll upload the rest of it as soon as possible...
Well, we keep the first release small, and not even all of Norway or Denmark is in yet, but we'll maybe add them in later...
Well, this is Scandinavia in the Middle-Ages, so it's a mix between Medieval and Viking, you can say. I think that vanilla BI will do fine to handle that, and eventually maybe Kingdoms too.
did you chacked VI2? it prrety good for most of your units
The rest of thepropagandaadvertisement is now in the first post!
...we could need some viking help:

Hello friends!
Is this mod still in progress?
I think this one would have been the very best mod that ever been maked!
I dont think someone of you have wrote this in the post, but remember, many of the swedish kings lived (and died) in Näs Borg on Visingsö in Vättern. I know Karl Sverkersson was murderd on Visingsö by Erik Jedvardsson's son, Knut Eriksson.
I hope this mod is going forward!
I can maybe help you whith information about the swedish kings in the 12th century. If you want?![]()
The three Danish pretenders were in a pretty messy civil war at this time, any Dane knows that ;-)King of Danmark: Valdemar den Store (19 years old), Svend Grathe and Knud V.
Valdemar’s wife: None.
Valdemar’s children: None.
As Valdemar den Store was the one who ruled the country alone from 1157, I think we’ll leave him as the main character. He'll be the lonely leader of a family tree, and the two others will simply be generals entitled "king".
I have an MA in history, specialising in Denmark in the long 12th century, but I am already a historian for EB II, so I cannot really help you except answer questions (PM on the EB Forum please), and link to my Ma dissertation which is a must-read not just for those doing the Danish faction, but all of them. The literature listed there should also be of some help, a few new books has been written on the subject, again, PM if you want them.
Well, depends on how you defines "still in progress".
I lost all the work on this mod, but I have come quite far in an unofficial project covering a larger part of Scandinavia, several factions and a broader timescale starting some centuries before, during the Viking Age (exact start date not set, but I'm going to start before the unification of Norway because, well, that very unification might be interesting to play through, so I guess my campaign would have to start around the mid-late 800's). And I have even done more work on that project than in this WIP (using the awesome Geomod tool the map-making and similar has just gone so fast).
But I am extremely short on information about Denmark, so all help is appreciated, although now I would gladly recieve information about Denmark some time earlier.
As of know, I don't even know the name of the king of Denmark at that time, but I've understood that also Denmark was divided and in civil wars, etcetera, in this new start date as well, so that would mean some more factions (I have many faction slots left).
Norwegian and Swedish history I know quite a deal of, but Denmark... not at all...
Frankly, though, I guess this thread is not good for much anymore... I'll eventually get around to start a WIP thread on the new mod in the Medieval 2 fora...

i think that this will/would be a cool mod. i've allways liked the Scandinavian Area.
Well, yeah, I'll just scream "hey, some moderator or administrator or whatever(ator), close this thread, please".
It serves no purpose no more.
