Default English Yeomen longowmen have lower range than Venetian archers.

How's this possible? I was doing a bridge battle and suddenly out of nowhere I was getting showered by 2 venetian archer units. And my yeomen couldn't reach them. I might be wrong, maybe it's supposed to be like that, but shouldn't the longbow reach them easily?

Their range is exactly the same; 200 meters for both of them.
See this and this for more information.
There have been explained what does every number/word mean, just keep mouse on them and that help screen appears.

Surely, but it makes the game more balanced I think.

Of course, and (the best thing) it's very easy.

Mod? ok, I'll try it out. Hopefully it won't be as last time when I accidentally buffed peasants instead of knights. You can imagine how that turned out. But where can I find the file to edit them?

For me, it's under C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data then the file export_descr_unit. The top of the text file has all the information on how to change it. Search is your friend here Dont' want to scroll it all to find your unit.

Yes and not good in rain etc due to the glue used in its construction

I thought that the longbow was a comosite bow to, as it was composed of two different sorts of wood. I don't know which ones, but I do know that one past was soft so that the bo wouldn't break due to too mutch stress and a hard part for the range and strenght of the arrow

It was made of the hardwood and the sapwood BUT it was still the same piece of wood (i.e. it included both the hard and the sap wood in the one piece). It wasn't glued together like true composite bows.

While the english longbow is classed as a self bow modern longbows are made by laminating different wood types which easily explains his misconception. As already stated the glues in that time simply were not up to the job and climate else the longbow tradition might have not developed as it has.

Venetian archers have a composite bow. This may come as a shock, but the composite bow was superior to the longbow in almost every way, including energy generated per pound of draw, velocity and range.
