    Default Opening the battle_models.modeldb" file

I am following a tutorial to add some new units to the game. This seems to involve opening the battle_models.modeldb" file. But i am unable to open this file windows just asks me to select a program to open it.

Can this file be opened and if so what program do i use.

Yes, open it with a plain text editor such as Notepad.

But what you'll need to do is format it so that it becomes readable. To do that download this tool:

You will need to install Python 2.6 (not 3.0!), and then simply run "formatmodeldb.py" in the same folder as your .modeldb.

the animating contest for freedom, go
home from us in peace. We seek not
your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch
down and lick the hand that feeds you,
and may posterity forget that ye were
    our countrymen."
