I can't install the 1.5 patch for total war

IT stops when it reatches localized.pack, it says that it is missing or someting.
ive tried 2 reinstall 3 times and it doesen't work what am i doing wrong ?

Ive tried the uk(or eu) patch ,us patch, us gold patch, eu gold patch

o/s windows 7 x64, ive tried at win vista x64 2 but it doesent work.

Along time ago when i had my own total war dics it worked, now i got a friends ( if it matters)

please help

First off, M2 had compatibility problems with XP even though it was designed for it (great code CA

). If you're trying this on Win 7 then I can see some additional problems potentially.

This is a problem that's been reported before on other OS. I'd advise opening a new topic in the M2 Tech Help section - you'll get more experienced eyeballs looking at the problem then. If/when you do then be sure to post your system specs in that post. Here's how:

DxDiag is easy to run if you have any knowledge of Windows. Go to the "Start" button and in that menu choose "Run Program" option ("Run..." in Vista IIRC). In the pop-up field type "dxdiag" and press enter. This is the DirectX test program - let it finish the test. After the test is finished choose the button toward the bottom labeled "Save All Information..." and save it to your desktop. Next open up this forum and post the results by copying and pasting directly to the forum. Please don't post attachments as they take up more space and time - just copy and paste. Please post ALL info and if you can please wrap it in a spoiler tag to minimize page size.

What version of Kingdoms are we talking about? Dvd? Gold? download? If which one? Which Language? US? UK? DE? Euro?

Do you have any modded files? Is it a clean install?

Nope i don't have any modded files, i don't know what kind of edition i have.

Then where did you buy it? This patch is too picky for just general answers.

At least you can find out your language and version by going to C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War and right clicking your "kingdoms.exe". Then choose properties and there you have a details tab which tells you that information.

I have the same issue. I have M2TW Kingdoms by itself, no gold pack or download. I:

Installed M2TW
Installed Kingdoms
Updated to 1.4
Tried to update to 1.5
It gave me that same localization error message. Is there a specific download that i need to get?

You only need the correct language patch for your version of Kingdoms. Don't install the Gold patch - that's specifically for the Gold Edition. It shouldn't even try to patch if you did that though.

Your case might be different though. It looks like you're a modder. Do you have any modded folders in the folder that you're trying to install Kingdoms to? This might screw with the installer and cause an error. I ask just in case.

If you're honest in your sig, you need the US non-gold version.

A word of caution. If you have changed in thing in one line in any file, you will be reinstalling the game. This patch only accepts a clean, untouched Kingdoms install.
