Installing Stainless Steel?

Hi,

I downloaded the two parts of 6.0, and installed them, I think, in the same file I have MTW2. But it didn't seem to work, as I still have the default game. Can somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Do you have Kingdoms, because for SS to work, you need Kingdoms to be installed?

Yep. I bought the Gold version.

Hrm. Okay, I got it to start up by going into the files; but when I clicked on the Republic of No
vgorod the game crashed, and now I can't get it to start up again.

Did you use the SS shortcut and not the default MTW2 shortcut?

I got it to start up by going into the files

Do you have a Stainless Steel shortcut on your desktop? Should be there if your install was complete.

It's there. The game is installed, it's just crashing when I highlight certai
n factions.

If you are talking about highlighting several factions info in a row causing a crash - thats a known unresolvable bug.
If you enter the selection menu and select ONE faction causing the crash - then its not.

As well as what Bane-tw has said, you also need 6.1 patch, you did not mention this earlier and I would strongly recommend you check on Rozanov's F.A.Q under Bugs, before you commence a campaign.
