Cannot locate the CD-ROM...... WTF

So I installed RTW about 4 days ago, used the chiv mod, worked fine the first time but whenever I tried to open it (using any of the short cuts) i would get this message. So I uninstalled and reinstalled and got the same result. I noticed that there was a chiv folder in the RTW folder even after the uninstall and reinstalled so I deleted that and again uninstalled and reinstalled and tried to play vanilla but got the same message....." Cannot locate the CD-ROM, Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application".

Its been awhile since I have played this game, or any other for that matter, but I think last time I installed it I had to enter the product key, I havent had to enter that any of the times I installed it this week?

Please help! This is doin my head in! All I wanna do is kill AI

Chivalry: Total War?
I don't know anything about it, make sure your not using a BI or Alexander disk, or vice versa if it is ment to used for any of those.

try and install the new disk in some other directory, and then copy the Creative assembly file to your "program files" directory.

I've got the same problem after installing EB. Removed my maps completely, but after new install of Rtw: Gold the cd could not be located. And I jsut found out i have the same problem with Medieval 2 Total War...

What do you mean by this: try and install the new disk in some other directory, and then copy the Creative assembly file to your "program files" directory.

i think he means during the installation, it gives you the option where to install it:

so install it somewhere else, not in program files, and then cut+paste the "rome - total war" folder into a "The Creative Assembly" folder in program files, create a shortcut of the RTW .exe file, and play!
