I recently re-installed Windows, and with it Rome - Total War and this modification. However, I can't seem to find the preferences.txt file. I've even searched the entire Rome - Total War directory and it says it doesn't exist.

you must make some modification in rome options like video setting and retun to windows, search now in your RTW directory and you will find your preference ..
force may be with you![]()
I've done that yet it still doesn't show.
Hmmmm.....
Maybe you've left the PC to hide certain files? Or you're looking in the wrong place? It should have it's own folder in the main directory.
I like pie.
I didn't install it in the default directory, could that be it? Or perhaps it's because I'm using Windows 7?
You have to run rome once before the preferences file will appear.

I have a folder called preferences in the main directory of Rome Total War (where I installed RS), with the preferences.txt file inside.
I'm sittin' here completely surrounded by no beer.
Stanley : you changed your avatar !
and you might have that folder the same as most of the rest of us, but apparently Theoroshia does not.

Ah, I found it, thanks Titus. It was in a hidden folder under my main user folder, just like you said.
