will SOMEONE please help me here so i can play this mod?
I have been trying in vain to expand the cultural centers of the Byzantines by adding byz to all the cities of Anatolia and a few others that were historically occupied by the byzantines for many years. the fact that 2 of your starting territories cant even make greek units is so annoying and i cant play with the default settings. no matter what i do i cant get these changes to take effect.
I have gone into SV/data/world/maps/base and changed the appropriate cities there by adding the byz resource and a few main and Kons for play in the high age. but that didnt work.
I went into SV/data/world/campaign/custom/high and changed the decr_regions as well and that didnt work.
what do i have to do to make these changes take effect? cause its really annoying that i cant train greek troops in a region that was occupied by the ERE for hundreds of years.

You need to delete the map.rwm file whenever you modify this sort of thing. It will allow the game to rebuild the map with your new settings.
I have to warn you, it was intentionally set up this way for game balancing reasons. It helps the Turks maintain their position in Anatolia, while preventing the Byz AI from steam rolling over the Turks.
After Manzikert Anatolia was lost to the Romans, and this helps to maintain that situation in-game.
You should really use the Feudal/Theme system to build Thematic units there, while building the Tagmatic units in the Greek core of the Empire.
Basically, the campaign is balanced so that there is a long protracted border war between the AI Byz and Turks.
Disclaimer aside, deleting the map.rwn will fix your problem
