Most Over-rated Unit?

This thread had to be made. What, in your opinion, is the most over-rated unit in the game? My vote will go to elephants. Sure, amazing stats, but a little fire and all hell breaks loose.
A close second would be chariots. Not even funny out easy they are to beat, yet you always hear people saying how dangerous they are. IMO, they're only dangerous in auto resolve.

Id have to disagree, I won a seige battle with 2 spartans agasint a full stack of First Cohorts, they came in the front gate with a battering ram and my spartans won because i had them in a vshape around the door. This was agasint another human player friend of mine just to see what a spartan could do.

Very tough choice. Went with Gladiators/Arcani in the end: Hiding anywhere rarely is that useful, when such a small amount of men are hiding (Foresters are nice, though...). And Gladiators seem to die relatively quickly, due to their small numbers as well.
I almost chose the Silver Shields: Their stats aren't that great, and they are beaten by similar tier units in most cases. But they are a life-saver for the Seleucids.

I couldnt decide between gladiators and chariots... but chariots can chase routers so they are slightly more useful. Sorry gladiators.

hard choice, but ill go with chariots. (but not the egyptions one, cos they dont rout when attacked by fire)

both need to learn how to use them then. i advise playing Scorp SR from SOR clan. he is good with em. if you play him once youll see how deadly a relatively cheap unit like egy chaz can be.

I would, but Steam is utter crap. I think I'll go down to GAME tomorrow, and get a new disc, so I can actually get a CD key that works .
I generally use chariots for mowing down light units... I still lose a few though. I am just a bad player

GAME is good. i brought my RTW disc there for 7.50 quid.

O, I can use chariots fine, but they are over-rated. It's easy to beat them is all I was saying.

I voted for Spartans, although Scythed Chariots come in a close second. Both are just ridiculously expensive units and don't have the toughness I'm looking for to warrant their expense.

Well they have their uses if your playing with them. But against chariots you can pretty much annihilate them with rows of pikemen and a couple of archers.

3 ways.

1-Bog them down in your infantry. Basically just surround them, they'll move like mollases for about 3 seconds and then die.

2-Fire. Fire arrows make them run awol. This is the most deadly way to destroy them(for your enemies), and if you succeed you may not even have to fight your enemies.

3-The easiest and most unrealistic may, phalynx or pikemen. They brush up against one, they die. Even the general's chariots with many hit points.
