    He posted some stuff in the recruitment thread and here is his reply to my PM:

    I'll make a .zip file of UI folder from my modification, you can look there for a small image of the units. tell me if you want any large scale image of one of them or the 3d model. Most are made, as I said, from other models.

    I've also made some cities contain wonder buildings that become a far away statue/mausoleum/etc in the battle screen and dissapear when destroyed (this is to say I can preety much at leas add buildings to a scene).

    Another thing I made is the athenian acropolis (sort of) by using the basis of a huge temple and other buildings on top.

    there are other things I can help out with but not all of them come to mind now, just ask away and I'll see if I have any idea. I can also make changes to scripts (modded punic wars for my own use - they start with cities changing sides to rome or carthage if conditions are right, sadly, found no way to spawn fleets). I also made a model of pyrrhus, as the one I took from rome total realism didn't quite make him look natural.

    One more thing, not all those things in the UI are made by me, some are left in their original state (tanken from eb or other mods) because I liked them the way they were. I don't take credit for those or anything like that

    All of that stuff (adding new buildings, modelling, cities changing sides) sounds fantastic and just the sort of thing we could use help with.

    Is the lithoballista yours?

    I'd love to see a screenshot of the Acropolis!

    Alos tell me a little bit more about the cities changing sides thing....how are you doing this as this is something we'd love to make happen for the Roman rebellion and maybe the start of the Roman campaign - cities swapping to Carthage if you lose the first battle.
    Ok, so to start with the ballista and siege equipment. All, except gastrapethes are made by me, some of the animations look a little wierd, but mostly don't seem so bad from a little distance, alternativelly, I could just give up on the upper part of the bow in the ballista and just let the cranks animate in order to avoid "unpleasant" replies from people.

    The cities changing sides is not my idea, i found it in some old post in this forum, but the principle behind it is something like this:

    you check the current faction type, than a variable gets a one value for that particular faction, afterwards you switch to the faction you want to give a city and use the command to take over city (can't remeber right now, i'll send you a sample of script later when I get home), after this is done you generally create a garrison of troops, maybe using random values for diversity and use the control command to switch to player faction. This works really well and the player never notices the change. I use advisor messages to tell the player what happened i.e. "To roman surprise, a carthaginian general crossed the alps and local gallic tribes have already joined the rebellion", or something like that. It works really well, I had rome build a historically correct empire with spread to spain and greece, still need to implement something for a possible battle with eastern empires, but it looks really good as it is now.

    The acropolis is not much to look at right now because there are only already existing buildings atop a large structure that was the basis of the temple. I could however make a statue of athena to replace the one taken form standard town square to improve the looks. I'll send a screenshot of this when I get home too.
    All this sounds almost too good to be true!

    Have you managed to add any new buildings from scratch including collision files and so on?

    I've just found out that one of the guys in the team is pretty good with animations (he'd not mentioned he could do anything like that before and had been working on music!), so we may be able to help wtih the lithoballista animations.
    Collision files, no, but thats not really a problem since you can use the collision file from a suitable building i.e make a group the size of a forge using the forge's collision files. I've made trees but unfortunatelly they didn't appear transparent, this however is not a problem for buildings since you can build them as 3ds with shadow effects on the textures to give the impression of windows, etc. I didn't do a lot in this area, just used the info in the forums and it worked for me. Could try to make a statue of atena tough and see how it looks ingame, souldn't be too hard, since i could just use a model from some unit, add a shield, helmet and that should be it.

    As far as animation goes, i never managed to edit the animations for siege engines, however I did manage to make the berserker headbutt as one of his attacks, die more "epiclly" - crawling a little to take one last bite of his enemy and some swordfighting animation based on what i read on a site.

    I'll check with the other team members but it sounds like you ought to be offered a place on the team. There's a whole load of possibilities:

    2) Pacco has created some amazing buildings but at the moment we don't seem to be able to get most of them to work in the game:

    3) helping with sorting the city ownership changes scripting - at the moment we have a background script which is autoactivated (this doesn't do much at the moment, but is there to allow other script elements to run once added)

    4) other bread and butter stuff - new unit cards for the siege engines, and maybe for the spies (these are still vanilla I think)

    5) other things!

    Loads of people play all sorts of mods without ever posting. Very easy to download the mod and edit.

    I can't remember how many posts Leif had before he joined the team, but it wasn't many.

    Certainly his attitude is very good in PMs with him.

    First off, thanks for the support, and for allowing me to help out with this mod.
    If it's ok, I understood there is a need for some new greek ballistas (similar to what I designed for my personal modification). There is the problem of animating the bow - making it bend under the pressure generated by the machine, this is the part that is not really possible to do well, because I have no idea on how to edit the animations, but the weels that help move the device are animated, so are the cranks, the general aspect of people working on arming the ballista looks good and natural, so a tensed bow is not really such a big issue in a model like this, but this is only my opinion. I'm going to start working on these to make some improved models - texture wise and perhapse try to trick the game by adjusting skeletons to get the bow to bend, that is if there isn't another thing you would like me to help out with.

    That'd be a good start. If you download the beta, you'll see that Pacco has already created new textures for the scorpion and ballista which are in game...there's also a thread about new engines which didn't really get anywhere - Karlost has disappeared.

    ....and in game - they work perfectly, push points are all correct. Excellent work, mate. The only thing that I need to adjust is the projectile angle.
