Default Installation worked but have skeleton errors...?

    Hi Everyone,

I was installing the latest Rome 1.5 version and done everything correctly as far as I know but had a skeleton error.

Skeleton errors usually indicate an incorrect installation.

Are you trying The RTW version of the mod (I assume you are if you have RTW 1.5)?

Yeah. I followed the link from the Lost Legion mini-mod as I was going to install that too.

Well, it works so you've done something wrong somewhere. Do you have Vista?

Explain what you did to install it. And do double check you have version 1.5 of RTW - and that it is clean.

I copied the rome directory and renamed it to FATW as all my mods have their own directories. I then ran the installer and pointed it to the directory. I checked the shortcut and that was fine too.

I get issues like it quite often with different mods so it must be something to do with single directories.

So you took the contents of the folder:

    C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War

and copied it into the new folder:

    C:\Program Files\Activision\FATW

    You pointed the installer to:

    C:\Program Files\Activision\FATW

and your shortcut reads something like:

    "C:\Program Files\Activision\FATW\RomeTW.exe" -show_err -nm -mod:bi\ci

    ?

    yeah exactly that.

EDIT - Just removed and reinstalled. I managed to load up to where I get to see the book but now it CTD's. I've played this mod before and this version it was just a different link at the time... curious.

Try it on your main installation (it does not touch vanilla files), but I cannot see why it would fail in a copy of RTW.

Maybe do a search for "skeleton" in these forums to see what issues have arisen. It's possible it's your PC setup or even files getting corrupted on download I guess.

Well its just CTD'ing without an error report now so I'm presuming several files are being corrupted.

I manged to get it to work. It needed to be installed on the ORIGINAL folder rather than a copied and pasted one. How strange?
