    Default Editor doesn't work

    not sure if this is the correct place but meh...



    i have the editor line in the .cfg file

    [features]
    editor = true

    i can select the coordinates to work on, but when i click ''start'' that should get into the map... it goes back to the main menu...


    any help?

    editor works off the files in /base and /campaign/imperial_campaign so make sure you've got something in there with map.rwm that actually works before trying editor

    am not sure where the map_FE type diagram for the editor comes from - doesn't seem to be from those folders in mod - so make sure you're actually choosing position that exists on land on your mod's map.....

    i got a working map.rwm

    am not sure where the map_FE type diagram for the editor comes from - doesn't seem to be from those folders in mod - so make sure you're actually choosing position that exists on land on your mod's map.....
    the map_FE is just aestetics, only the correct map coordinates (where's land) are required

    The map is not map_FE, it comes from data\menu\map_composite.tga - basically your map_heights resized to 591*379

    Old thread I know, but map_composite.tga is made from map_ground_types.tga isn't it?

    Now for two questions that sort of relate to the topic; what does the pink mean on map_composite? I am guessing it means you can't fight there, but I am not sure. Also, what map file is used in the campaign as a background for the regions map in the bottom left corner?

    If you use my quote, please read it properly:

    There will be no pink if you use that one. You can also use a resized radar_map file provided it is based on map_heights. Basically the map_composite is a representation of the landmass outline of the game. The only way to have it accurate is by using a resized map_heights or any other graphics based on it.

    And the radarmap(s) are in the imperial_campaign folder - radar_map1 and radar_map2 (and they are also based on a resized map_heights graphics)

    I read it properly, I was just asking a question because map_composite looks just like map_ground_types. I understand why you said to use map_heights now though due to the landmass outline.

    You are welcome.

    The 'touching up' of the map_composite is purely cosmetic. The important thing is to be able to identify landmarks. Same for the radarmaps.
    I normally make my maps with an online mapper and then use the initial pictures for these graphics.
