I've been playing this for a year now, and I have almost completely forgotten how far superior it is to the 'Vanilla' game.
I used the "Vanilla" game for my guide, but nothing more than that... So...
Just the other day I started campaign in SS6.1 with England, because they are my favorite faction, and I'm having a great time! My reputation is "Very Trustworthy" - I was at war with the French and took over Angers and Paris and now at peace with them again (Truce in exchange for trade rights, them paying me 4000 florins per turn for 10 turns and military access for me, not for them), and Scotland hasn't even attacked me, they actually don't want to attack me and I have recently established an alliance with them! (I'm at turn 30)
Now, some might think "Pff, that's ordinary!" But... No. It isn't.
I started a campaign with England in Vanilla, for comparison, and on turn 10, France and Scotland both blockaded one of my ports, and retreated. Not doing anything.
This kept going on and on, we're at war, but they've not attacked. At turn 20, they attacked Caen (FINALLY!) but quickly retreated again, and the Pope excommunicated me randomly.
In addition, most of my agreements (Trade rights and alliances) failed.
This is ought to show you how far superior SS6.1 is compared to Vanilla, and what I really want to say is: Thank you, and bravo! (even though it's a year late)
