    INTRO
    Hello everybody I am DevKoz, a total newbie in total war center.

    I ve been testing so many RTW mods so far and concluded that DARTH MOD and the Lusted's TE mod is the best.

    DM has no doubtly the best ai both on campaign map and battlefield.

    TE has 199 territories which makes the whole game more dynamic.

    when I was playing DM i wasnt satisfied with original map, cuz its was so small, and so many weak factions just died off after few turns as the strong ones were way tooo overpowered with overwhelming territories they got. Also, having only few territories didnt give me the feeling of EMPIRE.

    So ive been searching for every thread in DM about adapting MUNDUS MAGNUS(map used in TE mod) map on DM. and the result was cathastrophic, I wasted nearly 2 hours and couldnt find a clue about it. Ofcourse I saw some threads asking for MUNDUS MAGNUS map adapted to DM, but all the replies on those threads were... "Use europe 270bc" "Isnt possible" "Possible but need modification".

    So after few days of going thru the editing sites and learning the tips for editing and about hundred times of CDTs I suceeded in adapting MUNDUS MAGNUS map on Darth mod(MMMOD), also in addition, I unified romans in to one. The house of juli is the only one left and rest of them are deleted as They did nothing but carrying out the orders of senate, I just didnt like that. I prefer to have unified Rome which acts as a FACTION not a servant carring out senate's order.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTIFICATIONS
    -NEED TO HAVE CLEAN RTW 1.5 INSTALLED AND DM 8.0 + 8.1 ON YOUR COMPUTER.

    MUNDUS MAGNUS map on DM (MMMOD) + United rome + FACTIONS BALANCE + Darth formation ALL IN ONE PATCH

    1. DOWNLOAD
    Rome - Total War.rar (4.73 MB)
    2. EXTRACT it using windows rar.
    3. move the whole damm foldeer(Rome - Total War) into the directory where RTW is installed. ex) C:\Program Files\Activision(CORRECT) C:\Program Files\Activision\data(WRONG).
    4. PLAY THE GAME MY FRINDS.



    CHANGES
    1.MAP
    -WHOLE SIZE OF THE MAPT HAS BEEN DOUBLED AND NEARLY 100 MORE SETTLEMENTS WERE ADDED.

    2. FACTION MONEY
    I categorized factions in three

    STRONG, NORMAL, WEAK

    STRONG FACTIONS - ROMANS, EGYPT, CARTHAGE, GERMANS, MACEDONIA, GREEK, PONTUS, SCYTHIA

    NORMAL - SELEUCID, PARTIA, DACIA

    WEAK - GAUL, THRACE, NUMIDIA, BRITAIN, ARMENIA, SPAIN

    STRONG FACTIONS START WITH ONLY 5000 DENARI CUZ ARE ALREADY IN HUGE ADVANTAGE OF EITHER HAVING MANY TERRITORIES, AMRY, DIPLOMATIC SITUATION, LOCATIONS AND ETC.

    NORMAL ONES START WITH 30000DENARI AS THEY NEED SOME MONEY TO START UP.

    WEAK ONES WILL HAVE 60000 DENARI AS THEY ARE HUGELY IN DISADVANTAGE, OF EITHER WEAK ARMY, ONE TOWN NATION, ISLAND, STARTING WITH EXTREAMLY LOW INCOME, BAD LOCATION, AND ETC.

    2. FACTION CHARACTERISTICS

    IN ORDER TO BALANCE THE FACTIONS, I FIXED THE FACTIONS CHARACTERISTICS.

    I actually dont remember them all so ill just tell you briefly,

    Gauls are now gonna recruit mass army as they are getting attacked from romans, germans, spain, and possibly carthage and britain from all sides. unlike other mods, you will see that gauls actually deoes manage to survive through out the worst situation, which makes the game even more fun.

    Germans are weaked and will not send mass army as they used to, they will rather choose to have high quiality and packed army, still they will expand like crazy as they are still one of storngest military faction.

    Rebels whom used to start with 1million denari now only starts with 100000denari. cuz when they had 1million their army got so big, non of the small facitons mamged to survive them.

    THRACE + DACIA are strengthend, dacia will now PRINT OUT lots of army and attack germany, and dacia will make high quality pack of infantary major armies.

    Britain whom starts with only 1 town (with its income of -2500denary per turn) couldnt even get rid of the weak rebels on their island, due to the lack of,.,, everything. But by giving them 60000denary from the beginnig and trait which makes them to sail on the mainland will make britain to rise like shooting star.


    3.Darth formation

    By adapting thie formation you will cretainly see the AI improvvement on battlefield.

    4. ROMAN
    Romans are united and can only be played by house of juli. No more senate's orders, and no more other romans. you are totally independant and need to capture souther villaged asap.

    What about a map for Barbarian invasion? That map is way to small. Don't think I even want to start this campaign.

    I personally dont really like BI cuz its,,,, it dostn have the same feeling of RTW original, it has changed so much so I just bought it and didnt even go further than 10turns in the campaign. and if i am right BI also have lesser settlements and smaller map. So there should be the big one for BI.

    But this one will not work on BI, and i am not yet looking forward to edit the map for BI.

    Nice to see this. I have a lot of time to play DarthMod: RTW. I would like to see though how it works.

    WOW it is like my honor to see your writing on my post

    thnx for trying my mod out and thnx for making such a great mod like DM.

    I think balancing factions are quite much done as I have run thru more than 20 tests so far.

    I am trying to work more on MMMOD in any way the people want.

    But I am not sure how to as I am newbie in editing. (dont know how to reskin or all that fancy works others do... just know how to deal with descr_strat.txt and few other files).

    But I got my will to do so, Darth, if you are ok

    can you play it and tell me what should be fixed or added?

    I would gladly work on it as much as possible!

    If you can mod over DarthMod, I have no problem at all. The problem is that I have no time to play RTW... at all. I find some time to mod ETW, also I made a small submod for Third Age Total War, but that's it. You really have to depend on yourself and the feedback you will receive. If there is need, I wil lsticky your thread, according to reception of the players.

    Keep it up, and I will certainly try this later. This time period, I cannot.

    Great effort, thanks very much, DevKoz!

    I actually finished the unified Roman/Julii compaign. Some observations:
    1) Southern Italy rebel states could use some garrisons. As it is, you can just march into the first town (Capua, IIRC) without meeting resistance than racing south before the rebel AI can build any units to defend. It's a bit too easy but maybe that's the way it's meant to be, balance-wise.
    2) Governor's buildings and city levels don't add up for Southern Italy rebel states. They have Gov-houses when they should have Gov-villas, or their city level should be reduced by 1. That carries on with each city upgrade, so basically uprading from town to city is cheaper for those regions, but you also don't get the highest kind of palaces there, thus also no Praetorian Guards.
    3) For some reasons the game crashed when I reached the victory conditions. Also when you press the Senate's office list button. Possibly both related to eliminating the other Roman factions. No big thing, I at least didn't want to play on after capturing 50 regions.

    I noticed that the Barbarian factions get really, really rich (in particular Britain with up to 300,000 den and rising), so your town and armies getting bribed can be an annoyance (though I kind of like seeing those as defections, rebellions and such, not really ahistorical). On the other hand, all Barbarian factions really milk their villages for recruits. Their villages basically never become towns. For example, if you take London, Britain can hardly recruit any more units because it just has some 500 pop. villages left. I guess that's what also won me the war against Gauls and Germans. At some point they just didn't have the man reserves to raise units in most of their regions and I was left with mopping up their villages and two, three towns they had captured along the way.
    I wonder how the unit size setting influences this (I use 'huge'). Is it meant to be that way? If not: what unit size do you recommend or which setting did you use for testing?

    For some reason this doesn't work for me. It crashed after i choose nation and start loading.

    I'm having the same problem, CTD as soon as the loading bar finishes. Any ideas how to fix?

    I am having the same crash issue trying to start the campaign. I have tried to run the game on my Desktop, and two different laptops, each machine has diffent hardware and OS, none on them can get the game to work?

    I have followed the install instructions and all the other campaigns work, just not this one. Am i missing something? Or is this just a buggy half finished release?

    Also I'm having the same problem, CTD as soon as the loading bar finishes.
    I tried something and now working. I copied all the files from directory mundus magnus to imperial campaign
