    Default Ents Walk Funny...

    This thread may end up being short but me seeing Ents in the game is really cool but...

    I notice something is wrong about them. Their running movement is all wrong: they run like humans. Ents as described in the books were very rigid, stiff and not very 'bendable'. In the game their legs bend like 90 degrees!!!???

    I think that the animation for Ents whilst in run mode should be changed to them take larger strides or more rapid strides. I think it looks silly when the are in the middle of combat and the randomly sprint in dofferent directions.

    I also notice that alot of the time they just stand there and do nothing whlst the enemy attacks them, yet I never saw one killed before.

    What do you think?

    I agree with you most of the way...
    There is something "unnatural" about how they walk and interact... (and yes, I am well aware of the paradocs, when speaking of unnatural living trees...)
    Though, I doubt that anybody would have the patience to have more slowmoving ents, it would take forever for them to reach the units, and I guess they would in the meantime be an easytarget for archers...
    But... all of these changes, with animation and the way they attack, its a Massive project to remake... I think that if it really was so easy to edit these things, they would have been made a long ago...
    I dont think there will be many improvements on this matter, Im afraid...

    Ents by the way were not slow- They and also the huorns were quite fast. Though i admit that the running animations looks a bit weird, but it`s ok.

    I don't suggest making them slower but just make them have larger and more rapid strides.

    Eh. Surely this isn't what you want the modders to be focusing their time on, Evan? Ents walk funny?

    Unless you point problems out they will never be fixed and I never said that this be a priority.

    I haven't noticed anything wrong with their animations to be honest, only problem for me is their slow attacking. It takes like an hour to finish the battle lol. And yeah, I've seen one killed before, but that was from my own army, I shot it down with my silvan heavy archers while I had my ents attacking the uruks.

    I would say that:
    The animation is fine as it is. I don't wan't them to focus their atention on these details as I only see them for 10 sec before they die...

    They can still put it on the list ... somwhere at the bottom.

    Walking isn't biggest problem of ents I think how they walk is oke but they are so fast stuck..I think Olog-hai are still more usefull because they never got stuck.

    my big problem with ents is that once they engage they just stand around and dont attack much, olog hai always seem to be punching/kicking/squashing someone but ents just stand there.

    Yes and every now and then (when in melee) they just run a meter or two and then stop and stand getting hacked apart.

    It needs soe work.
