    Default Looking for an Idea

As some of you may have read, I've been working on an AI mod for Empire. Recently I made a big breakthrough, and I want to release my new version. However I don't want to have to ask people to overwrite their existing startpos.esf files, or scripting .luas to do it.

Is there anyway to use the package files to overwrite the old campaign without actually overwriting it?

Try this for startpos.esf: Make a new folder called e.g. my_main and place it in ETW/data/campaigns. Then go to your startpos in [..]/CAMPAIGN_ENV/CAMPAIGN_PLAYERS_SETUP and change first line main to my_main. In my_folder place your startpos and scripting files. I think it's gonna work.

Interesting idea but how do you load that campaign from the UI?

Edit: I think I may have found something for this, I'll give it a try tomorrow and let you guys know.

If you did that would be great, I would be even more in your debt for all the help you have given me without knowing

Ok, this seems to work with a bit of UI editing. I'll come up with a simpler mechanism than having to compile lua files and post a small how-to then
