Best processor for m2tw

which is the best AMD processor and the best intel (i7 out of question) for play ss m2tw ?

i have an aging xp 5600 i'm looking for a upgrade that give a good boost on m2tw .i know that ETW is multi-threat but until awsome mods appear i will keep on m2tw so which processor is the best in single threat processor .

This isn't really SS specific, so you would probably be best asking this in the general M2TW forums.

Not really sure if you can even buy single core processors these days. . Because M2TW is a few years old, you wont need a top of the line system to run it (which is good news for us!.) I'm currently running an Intel E8400 CPU and the game runs great. . If you want to spend a little more money, you can get the E8600. Not sure about the AMD side of things but according to a gaming mag I bought the other day, the Phenom II X2 500 and the Athlon II X2 250 are good CPUs if you are on a budget.

Of course you'll still need a decent amount of RAM and a good graphics card to get the best performance from M2TW. RAM is so cheap these days and you can pick up 4Gb of DDR2 for next to nothing. And video cards are pretty cheap these days too. The other day I upgraded to an ATI 4890 for only $279 Australian. Shame I dont have any games that can really push this card to it's limits though
