I do not want to creep anybody out here, but I was sifting through some family archives that my brother had compiled before his passing. Tucked away was a photo of a warship and on the back in my fathers script was;
HMS Hood, July 1941.
Hood was lost in May / 41 which got me wondering how dad got the date wrong. He being a pharmacist ( chemist to you blokes across the pond
) was very meticulous in his record keeping. Anyway I sent an e-mail with scan of pic to Frank Allen of the HMS Hood Association and just this morning received confirmation that it is indeed HMS Hood.
He has asked for a larger blowup of the photo ( centered on Hood itself ) so that they can analyse for more detail. But I am not capable of smoothing , sharpening etc. Can anyone help me?
This is HMS Hood:
