Default The most annoying thing, historic accuracy

I simply can't finish a campaign any more because wherever I go in the year 1505 I see SPEAR MILITIA in LIGHT MAIL. I see CATAPULTS. I see TREBUCHETS in 1610. It pisses me off so much that I just can't start a new campaign any more. Especially with the 1450/Late campaigns. Does anyone else have this problem? How do you deal with it?

Isn't it simply a matter of removing these old units from the newer recruitment building?

I use RealRecruitment. Not only does RR prevent units from being available too early (i.e. full plate armoured units in the 12th century), but it also phases out older units as the game progresses.

yeah , as Caesar Clivus said , RR solves OUR (yes , I had the same problem as yours , I hated to fight billmen in 1100) problem. The last version of this mod(with patch 6.2 , 1100 campaign , + a lot of other things)is just beautiful.I love it!

Sub Mods folder - the title of the thread is SS 6.2 RR/RC 1.3 or something.

I'm actually playing the early era now, because the 1450/1370/Late campaigns all end in 1600's, when the Gothic armor was fairly obselete, even though it remains through the game.

i don't like RR, it takes way too long to build armies, should have to wait 6 turns for another unit of Feudal Knights

I like RR because I like historically influenced games that have some what of a semblence to reality, not some medieval fantasy where I can have all my armies composed of nothing but Knights and steamroll the AI.

It's kind of Byg's Grim Reality minus the grim bit... reality, but still cheery
