Default Sweden, what do you know about it and its history?

Could be anything really. What do you know about this country? I'm interested since we're a small country, and thus I'd like to know what people know about Sweden.

    Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ljungberg
Used to be imperialist evil, especially to Finns earlier
I hate nationalists who wants to talk about their country all the time and they are there just like in every other country( haha not to you Salem....maybe )

Carl something after escaping Poltava had demanded help from Ottomans and stayed there for a while and for his personality gained the respect of Janissaries who called them "Demirbaş"(ironhead) Şarl.

"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

Yeah, the Swedes got beaten so bad they became pacifist.

Well, Finland had a great deal of autonomy under the Russian empire and we weren't forced to fight in their wars, so apart from the russification period I'd say Finns were alot better off under the Russians than under the Swedes.

To be honest, close to nothing. You king is a decendent of a French general (Bernadotte) who was randomly chosen by Charles the something (II? X?). Umm, you guys were awesome way back when, but then slowly lost power. People get you mixed up with Switzerland a lot. You guys were a safehaven for refugees during WWII. Sweden = cold, people always say "ya sveden" when talking about Sweden. You king is Gustaf or something like that, and that's pretty much all I know lol, pathetic. Oh yeah and your president a while back looked exactly like Conan O'brien.

I had no idea that Sweden had both king and president...

The only thing that is good about sweden (better then other countries) is that we had the fiercest vikings, and vikings lived in an utopia. something that we are a long way from in modern times.
You have a certain mentality, a "you vs them" and i know it is hard to see, but it is only your imagination which makes up enemies everywhere. I haven't professed anything but being neutral so why Do you feel the need to defend yourself from me?. Truly What are you defending? when there is nobody attacking?

And is being fierce an awesome thing to be proud of? Let's say it is, should I respect a Swede for that particular reason?

(soory, I declared war on nationalism)

I can point out it's location on a map and I have a general idea of what the terrain is like. And I know a little about Gustavus Adolphus and the 30 years war, that's about it.

I have to agree. There is no way of prove which Vikings (danish, Swedish or Norwegian) were the fiercest. Nor does it matter at all.

Swedish Girls are hot, and there is a candy in America called "Swedish Fish", which is really good. But other than that, most Americans don't know jack didley squat, and don't really care either.

I don't know much because they haven't done much on a larger scale.

Women and social democracy are great though.
