    Icon5 adding buildings to settlements from descr_strat

    I was following an awesome mapping tutorial by GrnEyedDvl and everything was working perfectly untill in the second lesson I was supposed to add roads to all of the settlements.

    I go into descr_strat file in imperial_campaign and added
    building
    {
    type hinterland_roads roads
    }
    as instructed for all settlements. but unfortunately only the first settlement which appears in descr_strat file which belongs to my faction( England) gets the road, and the other 9 rebel settlements dont have roads.

    also in descr_strat file I see this:

    settlement
    {
    level city
    region Median_Province
    year_founded 0
    population 4000
    plan_set default_set
    faction_creator russia
    building
    {
    type core_building stone_wall
    }
    building
    {
    type barracks town_guard
    }
    building
    {
    type market corn_exchange
    }
    building
    {
    type temple_orthodox small_church_o
    }
    building
    {
    type hinterland_roads roads
    }
    }

    but this settlement is totally empty when I clich on it in on the campaign map.
    what is the problem?
    thanks in advance

    The game stops processing the descr_strat file when an error happens. This results in 'empty' settlements.
    Errors are mostly caused by typing errors. Check for wrong brackets (smooth instead of curly) typos. Sometimes the errors are documented in the log (building doesn't exists in DB)

    yes you are right. there were some lines that I had deleted unknowingly when I was renaming the regions and cities.
    thanks

    PS.
    if anyone reading this post has a similar problem: compare your mod's descr_strat to the vanilla descr_strat to learn the logic of scripting in that file and catch your mistake. thats how I found my mistake.

    It's only frustrating because we are using the generated spreadsheets, while CA used special programs which checked for all of these errors before generating the said spreadsheets.

    "If ye love wealth greater than liberty,
    the tranquility of servitude greater than
    the animating contest for freedom, go
    home from us in peace. We seek not
    your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch
    down and lick the hand that feeds you,
    and may posterity forget that ye were
    our countrymen."

    I haven't looked inside a descr_strat since I am using Geomod, saves you all that heartache. Lovely thing adding buildings, resources, characters, family trees - all through an interface.
