Default Muslims banned from Black Eyed Peas concert

    http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/reuters/0...odd_us_concert

The move comes after a Malaysian Islamic court sentenced a 32-year Muslim woman to be caned after she was caught drinking beer in a hotel and at a time when an opposition Islamic party has moved against beer sales.

The concert, part of celebrations of Guinness 250th birthday, asks on its website (http://www.arthursday.com.my) "Are you a non-Muslim aged 18 years and above?" and if the response is no, access is not allowed.
This is one of the ironies about Muslim countries, like in Iran, if you're a Muslim and are caught drinking alcohol, you are flogged, but if you're a Jew or a Christian, then you're not punished.

The Black Eyed Peas were my favourite group. I would actually consider it a rebellious issue if the government banned me from seeing the Peas. I would massacre them all. Like in that film, V for Vendetta.

My father would have made a mess in his pants seeing the ending to V for Vendetta. Seeing Parliament blow up would have made him a happy man.

If our government ever banned you from seeing a bloody concert I would help you blow the bastards up and I am not fond of the Black Eyed Peas.

Question for Shahanshah: Say my father was Muslim and my mother was Muslim yet I chose to convert to be Christian, or Jewish, or Atheist, etc.....Am I expected to follow the extra laws they enact for Muslims or do I get to drink in public? Or am I just stoned or caned immediately for converting? I have no problem with Muslim countries wanting to enact Muslim laws and Muslims in say the UK following UK laws....I do however have a problem with the multiple different 'legal' systems in a single country.

No, first of all depending on the country you would be killed outright or your parents would disown you and drive you away. There are laws in certain countries that prohibit converting from Muslim to anything else.

So the answer to your question (not my opinion) is your "stoned or caned immediately".

In contrast to the efforts of tiny Israel to make contributions to the world so as to better mankind, one has to ask what have those who have strived to eliminate Israel from the face of the earth done other than to create hate and bloodshed.

    not in Turkey
"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

    And rightfully so, IMO.

If Muslims want to impose such laws on themselves that's bad enough, why should they also impose them on people who aren't going to follow Islamic rules anyways?

But this case seems strange: just because it's sponsored by Guinness doesn't mean everyone attending it will be drinking beer.

Wait, you complain that Non-Muslims are being treated badly in Muslim countries, yet when they are allowed to drink you come around and say now Muslims are being treated badly?

And how does it effect Muslims? Those who want to drink do so anyway in their homes. Rightfully so if a Muslim was caught they should be punish if she was stupid enough to be drinking outside. Its also Ramzan so its doublely worse.

Laws are different for the Non-Muslims and Muslims. It helps do whatever they want to do without being presecuted through the Muslim law. So what are you complaining about now? Just because its Muslim does your flag for "I Hate ISLAM" flash?

That was the irony I was referring to. In most instances they treat Muslims preferentially, but in the case of alcohol they beat Muslims and not non-Muslims.

There's no doubt in my mind however that muslims are treated badly under every Islamic government, as their denied many of their basic rights.

I deserve an apology from all those people saying I was inflating the number of Muslim fanatics, considering we have some on this very board.

Well, despite what you might think, I do think Muslims and non-Muslims should have equal rights. So, I do lament any mistreatment of Muslim or non-Muslim people.

In fact, I make no distinction when thinking of rights between members of any religion. I actually spend a lot of time criticizing and exposing Muslim fanaticism, whose victims are mostly people who describe themselves as Muslim. But, I don't defend them because they're Muslim, I'd defend anyone against the scourge of Muslim fanaticism.

Not based solely on religion. Not true legal systems anyway. The whole Sharia court in the UK thing is a ing nonsensical load of . The judgements are only binding if you agree to them. In the course of English, Scottish, and NIrish courts being seperate...they are but ostensibly we are different nations under one country so it isn't technically the same. We all agree to follow one another's laws when in one another's nation. However the laws in NI for example are the same whether you happen to be Catholic, Prod, Jew, or Muslim, etc.

Who are my...err...people...? You can say it I don't mind. I don't believe in that particular ideology these days.

Maybe you can answer my question though....Would I be legally obligated to follow Muslim laws if I converted(from Islam in a situation like the above) or not?
