Default [Strat Map Wonders Discussion] Taira Clan

    Hey Folks,

Asking the help of researchers our team has, and the ones we are about to have.

The Taira Clan faction needs some Eye-Catcher buildings for the Strat Map.

Something has already been done for this faction, I am sure, at least the city models.
of of other buildings I would have to say I am unaware, still we need more

Could the Research Department please provide us with pictures and names of Buildings that are:

    -Eye Catchers(Special).
-From the Period of our mod. (around 1171 A.D.)
-Bigger format pictures than 640x480 please.
-There is no limit to the number of pictures, just when it becomes to much of a picture spam fest it might be better to give links to websites
-Spoiler Tags will come in handy
-Another thing which is very important is the location of the wonder. We don't want wonders to be packed in one area, while the rest remains empty, if you could find a map of the faction(country) and mark the wonder's location with a dot, that would be great.

Thanks are extended in advance, but may be repeated after your posts as well

Ise Grand Shrine (Ise Jingū) is a Shinto shrine dedicated to goddess Amaterasu-ōmikami, located in the city of Ise in Mie prefecture, Japan. Officially known simply as Jingū ( lit. "The Shrine"), Ise Jingū is in fact a shrine complex composed of a large number of Shinto shrines centered on two main shrines, Naikū and Gekū .
The Inner Shrine, Naikū (also officially known as "Kotai Jingu"), is located in the town of Uji-tachi, south of central Ise City, and is dedicated to the worship of Amaterasu-ōmikami. The Outer Shrine, Gekū (also officially known as "Toyouke Daijingu"), is located about six kilometers from Naikū and dedicated to Toyouke no ōmikami, the deity of agriculture and industry[1]. Besides Naikū and Gekū, there are an additional 123 Shinto shrines in Ise City and the surrounding areas, 91 of them connected to Naikū and 32 to Gekū.
Ise Jingu's Inner Shrine, Naikū, has a national treasure in its possession. Purportedly the home of the Sacred Mirror, the shrine is arguably one of Shinto's holiest and most important sites. Access to both sites is strictly limited, with the common public allowed to see little more than the thatched roofs of the central structures, hidden behind four tall wooden fences. The High Priest or Priestess of Ise Shrine must come from the Japanese Imperial Family, and is responsible for watching over the Shrine.
The two main shrines of Ise are joined by a pilgrimage road that passes through the old entertainment district of Furuichi. The region around the shrines consists of the Ise-Shima National Park and numerous other holy and historic sites including the 'wedded rocks' Meoto Iwa, and the Saiku (the site of the Heian period imperial residence).

Izumo Taisha is Japan's oldest shrine, constructed in a purely Japanese architecture style, called Taisha-tsukuri. The annual gathering place of Shinto's eight million kami ("Shinto gods"), Izumo Taisha is considered Japan's second most important shrine after Ise Jingu.
Izumo Taisha is dedicated to Okuninushi no Mikoto, the nephew of the Sun Goddess. Because Okuninushi is the kami of marriage, visitors clap their hands four times instead of just twice during their prayers, twice for oneself and twice for one's actual or desired partner.

Ise Grand Shrine: According to the Nihon Shoki, around 2,000 years ago the divine Yamatohime-no-mikoto, daughter of the Emperor Suinin, set out from Mt. Miwa in modern Nara Prefecture in search of a permanent location to worship the goddess Amaterasu-ōmikami, wandering for 20 years through the regions of Ohmi and Mino. Her search eventually brought her to Ise, in modern Mie Prefecture, where she is said to have established Naikū after hearing the voice of Amaterasu-ōmikami saying "(Ise) is a secluded and pleasant land. In this land I wish to dwell." Before Yamatohime-no-mikoto's journey, Amaterasu-ōmikami had been worshiped at the Imperial residence in Yamato, then briefly at Kasanui in the eastern Nara basin.
Besides the traditional establishment date of 4 BC, other dates of the 3rd and 5th centuries have been put forward for the establishment of Naikū and Gekū respectively. The first shrine building at Naikū was erected by Emperor Temmu (678-686), with the first ceremonial rebuilding being carried out by his wife, Empress Jito, in 692.
The shrine was foremost among a group of shrines which became objects of Imperial patronage during the early Heian period. In 965, Emperor Murakami ordered that Imperial messengers were sent to report important events to the guardian kami of Japan. These heihaku were initially presented to 16 shrines including the Ise Shrine.
Izumo Taisha: There is no knowledge of exactly when Izumo-taisha was built, but a record compiled around 950 (Heian period) describes the shrine as the highest building, reaching approximately 48 meters, which exceeds in height the 45 meter-tall temple that enshrined the Great Image of Buddha, Tōdai-ji. This was due to early Shinto cosmology, when the people believed the gods (kami) were above the human world and belonged to the most extraordinary and majestic parts of nature. Therefore, Izumo-taisha could have been an attempt to create a place for the kami that would be above humans.
Tried to add some more pictures but they wouldn´t upload...

    In short: yes.
I´m tryin´already to filter out some stuff so you don´t have to read through all the stuff I do. But in general: There is no "too much information",right? Again: I´m not always sure if what I provide is useful and on the right place. So: criticism is always welcome (If constructive)

    Todai-ji Temple

Constructed in 752 on the order of Emperor Shomu, Todai-ji Temple's Great Buddha Hall in Nara is the largest wooden structure in the world and houses an immense statue of Rushana Butsu.

The Daibutsu Hall contains this 14.84 metre bronze statue of the "Cosmic Buddha" (Mahavairocana), later known as Dainichi Nyorai in Japan's esoteric Buddhism.

The Great Buddha (Daibutsu) weighs 500 metric tonnes.

In 784, Emperor Kammu moved the capital from Heijo-kyo (Nara) to Nagaoka and then Heian-kyo (Kyoto) to escape the meddlesome influence of the powerful Nara temples on affairs of state. However, Todai-ji Temple had close links with the imperial family and nearby Kofuku-ji was the clan temple of the powerful Fujiwaras, so both continued to exert some influence on the court. Nara is mentioned in the New Herbs chapter of The Tale of Genji when Akikonomu commissions sutra readings at the Seven Great Temples of Nara.

The Daibutsu Hall contains a number of important sculptures and more can be found at the temple's nearby Hokkedo (Lotus Hall) and Kaidan-in (Ordination Hall).

Todai-ji was actually the first wonder created for the mod and can be seen in the Japan previews.

Any idea of all the other wonders for Japan that were created?
I remember you making a list about Japanese city models in the old forum.
But wonders.... I have no idea, and I do think its nice for me to know as Building Maker, you know..

I'll add them to the list if either Chris or/and Alex can tell me which wonder belongs to which Japanese Faction?

Beisi Pagoda, Baita Pagoda, Nara Pagoda, Todai-ji Temple. At least one of those first two isn't Japanese, but I think you know all the Chinese ones so you can spot which.

I'll add it to the list. And the Ise Grand Shrine as well ofcourse
