    I have a short list of "famous Irish" I am related to : John F Kennedy ( my grandmother's side ), General Meagher ( American Civil War - Irish Brigade ) James Larkin( not sure about this one ), Niall of the 9 hostages ( along with 10% of the irish population )



    those are the only ones i know of for now.

    Given that Djengis Khan is related to roughly 0.5% of the world's male population, chances are he appears in a few family trees here on TWC as well.

    Send away for it. Get a dna heritage test. Try national geographic or ethno ancestry.

    It isn't unlikely that he is related to the Kennedy's, we started off with a relatively small number of extended 'clan' families and most Irish who can trace their roots back far enough will find famous/infamous or powerful relatives because of intermarriage.


    I am not apt to share too much personal information but I have a number of relatives buried in the Milltown Cemetery and some of their names along with some of the living would be easily recognisable to anyone from the Isles, mostly those in their mid twenties or older, from news stories. I have the usual connections with old kings and chiefs branching from the O Ceallaigh of Ui Maine.
