Wrong sign of control on the map

Sometimes this type of problem happens the map shows wrong supremacy colors and COA.

Any idea how to solve?
Anyway on the map it shows Aztec control. Sometimes the player gets a quest to contact with Aztecs but they are not known that time yet. What can be the problem?

Did you make changes on the map_regions file and then continued playing? That is usually what happens then.

Should be ok when starting a new campaign.
