    Default Mongol voices

I have noticed that the mongols speak with an Arabic accent in SS. I'm not sure here (it was ages ago I played a vanilla campaign) but didn't they speak with a more Eastern Asian accent in the original game? It is quite annoying to have Genghis and Subotai refer to you as "sultan" and frequently drop random Arabic phrases.

In my descr_sounds_accents the mongols are, weirdly enough, placed under "accent Mongolian". I tried adding "golden_horde" and "the_golden_horde" (just guessing) as well. Removed the voice- and event-files in data/sounds before changing, etc. Nothing works.

Any ideas on what the problem might be? I don't want to have my mongols speaking of "Allah" (especially not since I've changed them to a pagan faction), and it becomes even more annoying when I know that mongol/asian accent voices are available somewhere.

    Solutions?

I honestly don't know. You could look in the sounds folder for the sounds that come under "accent_mongolian" or something...

Maybe you could change the accent to the same than Cumans? Even if that may cause some funny words too

The reason why their voices have changed is because the mongol voice set is incomplete. CA never had the Mongols as playable so they didn't think it necessary to include a lot of the sounds needed for normal factions. So if you set the Mongols to the mongolian accent, they will be silent on the campaign map for the most part.

As I guessed, then... They wouldn't have to be silent, though. The phrases that are already recorded (like those from the battlemap and the ones you hear when you select one of the AI-mongol armies in vanille) could probably be used. I don't know anything about where I can find those files, though. Can you direct me to a tutorial, or similar, about modifying sounds?

Is it possible to complete the set without violating the whole legal funstuff?

Do you know anyone with a mongolian accent to record new sounds?

As long as it is unclear if we can manage to introduce new language its kind of a mute point but I know that it is taught in my area and among the exchange students at the university are mongolian speakers as well.
I'm not that talented with languages myself but after listening to the examples here I think that we dont necessarly need native speakers to emulate the accent but people with similar language roots might suffice.
