Default Desecration of the Quran - in poor taste - but no angry crowd marching down the street

    LINK

Another Quran desecration story. In poor taste really considering it was used to smuggle drugs.

But why no angry crowd marching down the street demanding the death penalty?

    I WANT MY ANGRY CROWD!!!

Where do you live? Because theres been a few desecrations of the bible in America [such as the one for 'art'] that I can think of right off the top of my head.

    No, they're not.

As a Christian I wouldn't protest in the streets at all if a Bible was desecrated. It's only paper and ink, and there are several billion more copies on the planet.

Yeah. Its all nice and good to be culturally sensitive, but so tedious. Who cares what is desecrated? No one took a dump on the alter in the Dome of the Rock so whats the big deal?

From the sounds of it, the guy wasn't doing it to desecrate something. He was doing for it for the bling bling to pay child support to his baby's momma.

Aye, it is a tragedy, but this wasn't a willful act of intolerance. There are a few things that infuriate me more, such as a similar instance used by the Mexican of killing kidnapped babies and using their corpses to smuggle hard drugs into the United States.

First, they weren't westerners so that point is out.

Secondly, they were caught and justice will prevail. Why should there be a crowd marching when law has prevailed?

Finally the angry crowd only marches when unrepentant people in the west do it and laugh. Justice hasn't been served and an angry crowd will form.

You want an Angry crowd? Go to Iran or Saudi Arabia and desicrate it in front of the local market. You'll get your own personallized angry crowd that you're dying for.

    Bingo.

When Muslims mistreat the Qur'an it's not so bad. And when Muslims kill other Muslims, that's not so bad either.

For what crime will justice prevail? Drug smuggling or desecration of paper?

Are you suggesting mistreating the Qur'an should be a crime?

And your source for saying this is... ?

And when Muslims kill other Muslims, that's not so bad either.
Again, the great big body of evidence which this assertion is based upon is... ?

For what crime will justice prevail? Drug smuggling or desecration of paper?
    Will it matter?

I would say depending on the societal condition and TPO (time, place, occassion), yes. There have been a whole lotta precedence all over the world where one thing is considered "okay" in one country and a jailable offense in theo ther.

How come whenever anyone draws a stupid picture of a character in Islam, there are huge protests calling for the deaths of the infidels, yet when a Muslim suicide bomber desecrates all of what Islam stands for by blowing up himself and hundreds of others, there is only silence. Until I hear protests against the suicide bombings on the scale of those against the Danish cartoonist ( even more so in fact, one's massmurder and the other is an insult), I refuse to even recognize that they have been insulted, as they need to get their priorities right.

And yes, I know there was no protest against this, but the statement still stands.

A fair comment to make of course. There are some biases which are unintentional... others however are intentional... and often used for intention l dramatic or argumentative effect.
