Default Azerbaijani security forces tracking down 43 people who commit the crime of voting for Armenia in Eurovision

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22425001...85081#32485081

Apparently, they went so far as to confirm to reuters that yes, they are investigating 43 people for voting for armenia in eurovision.

    What on earth?

    Eurovision.
    Serious business.

    and some more linkage:
    http://globalvoicesonline.org/2009/0...oting-scandal/

I agree, can't decide if this is alarming or entertaining.

And the BBC link so it looks like a respectable post:
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8205907.stm

I mean, honestly, I personally think anyone who voted for Armenia's song might be a little crazy, but come on.

but really, my favorite line: "The Azerbaijani authorities said people had merely been invited to explain why they voted for Armenia."

That is hilarious! It is good to laugh at this, the authorities deserve to be ridiculed, it's just as damaging as strong words of condemnation.

If you're canadian and you cheer for America at the hockey World Cup, the Canadian government feed you to polar bears.

I think they should track down anyone who's ever voted in the Eurovision song contest or even watched it all the way through.

Ridiculous, just plain ridiculous. Someone is reaaaally taking The Eurovison Song contest a tad to serious. I voted for Lordi back in 2006, just because I hate ESC, not that I want Finland to invade Sweden....

well Yeah! they did have Arash...

But seriously if Azerbaijan said "we're taking them in for psychiatric evaluation" I feel like everyone would be like "oh alright then, carry on".

With this news in mind, I think it's obvious that Azerbaijan belongs in the EU. Certainly NATO. If they're good enough for Eurovision they're good enough for the other groups!

The singers for Azerbadjan was Swedish immigrants (Yes we have alot of thoose) and they should be ashamed.
And the whole Eurovision contest has been a fail since all these easteuropeans and arabians joined in.

This could only happen in the Balcans or Caucasus.

    + for what Yorkshire said
"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

I heard the MI-6 arrests you and subjects you to death by cricket bat if they find out you've been cheering for the Aussies during the Ashes.

Edit: Being a yank, I just googled some vids of Eurovision.

Jesus you Euroes are into some weird stuff.

Lol I think all music entertainment on TV is incredibly stupid, Just keep it on the radio and kill anyone who uses TV to watch it thanks (unless the TV is streaming radio) All the music videos are moronic as well.
